Write for Service Break
At Service Break, we’re building a space for thoughtful, creative, and diverse voices around sport. Sport isn’t just about results — it’s about the people, places, and experiences that shape it. We want to hear from anyone who has something meaningful to share, whether that comes from the stands, the sidelines, or behind the scenes.
We’re open to:
- Event write-ups and first-hand accounts — from major tournaments to local competitions
- Stories of working in and around sport (officiating, volunteering, hospitality, media, coaching, or other supporting roles)
- Essays and reflections on how sport intersects with culture, politics, and everyday life
- Interviews, profiles, or conversations that bring new perspectives
- Photography, visual stories, and contributions from artists whose work takes inspiration from sport
You don’t need to be a professional journalist to contribute. If you’ve got an eye for detail, a curiosity about sport, or simply a story worth telling, we’d love to hear it.
To pitch: send us a short email with your idea, a little about yourself, and any relevant links, clips, or examples of your work. We’re also keen to hear from photographers, designers, and creatives working with sport in different ways.
This is an ongoing call and we review submissions on a rolling basis.
