Who are we?
Service Break
At Service Break, we believe that sport is more than a result; it’s a rhythm, a culture, and a way of seeing the world.
Service Break is an independent sports journal built on the belief that sport is more than a result.
Founded with a deep respect for both storytelling and visual craft, Service Break began as a space to document sport thoughtfully and to give attention to the moments, people, and stories that too often sit outside the spotlight.
One year on, it has grown into something bigger: an athlete agency, a media outlet, and a place where sport and creativity meet.
We now sit at the intersection of performance and presentation, helping athletes tell their stories while also producing editorial work that reflects the wider world around sport. From written features and grounded opinion to photography and creative direction, our work is shaped by the idea that sport does not exist in isolation. It is connected to image, identity, community, ambition, and culture.
As a student-founded platform, we are especially committed to supporting student work and aspirations in all forms. We understand how difficult it can be to find a genuine entry point into the sports creative industry, and Service Break exists in part to create one: a real platform for emerging talent, a real body of work, and a real way into the spaces where sport is shaped and shared.
We are not here to chase controversy or echo headlines. We aim to slow the pace, offer perspective, document the overlooked, celebrate the everyday, and question the obvious.
Whether you are an athlete, a coach, a supporter, a creative, or simply curious about the deeper currents that shape sport, Service Break is made for you.
This is where we pause, pay attention, and begin again.
This is Service Break.
